IPL targets pigment and therefore works best on a range of the lighter skintones.

Unfortunately, on a dark to black skin tone the light flash might target the pigment in the skin instead of the hair. Check the skin tone chart if IPL works for your skin tone.

IPL can also be less effective on white, grey or red hair due to lack of pigment.
